HR Talent from Lithuania Who Found Her Path in Bulgaria – Rasa’s Story

Rasa, originally from Lithuania, is one of those people who bravely step forward where others only hesitate. Today, she manages recruitment at Marino Group Bulgaria, but her professional journey has been full of unexpected turns, new experiences, and bold decisions. In this interview, Rasa shares her story – what it means to start from scratch abroad, and what inspires her most when working with people from different cultures.

A Life Direction – Bulgaria

Although her roots are in Lithuania, Rasa says that Bulgaria has become her second home. “I came here at my partner’s invitation — I just wanted to get to know the country. I was immediately fascinated by its nature, people, and climate. Gradually, Bulgaria became the place where I truly feel at home.”

Rasa’s journey into HR wasn’t planned, but as she explains, it all started with a simple wish to work for a Lithuanian company. “It began with the desire to work for a Lithuanian company and connect with Lithuanians. Before that, I worked for many years in Bulgaria and the UK as a purchasing and sales manager — in industries such as naval vessels, aircraft, and industrial water systems. That experience helped me understand how important people and teamwork are and that’s where my HR path began,” says Rasa.

From One Desk to a Strong Team

When asked about her most memorable experience at work, Rasa smiles and recalls the beginning: “I started five years ago — just me, one chair, and a small table that barely fit a laptop. Now we have a proper office and a team of colleagues. It feels great to see how much we’ve achieved together.”

Her words perfectly reflect the Marino Group spirit — to grow, build, and achieve together with people who share the same goal.

What Makes the Ideal Candidate?

Rasa says that working at Marino Group is very dynamic, and success depends not only on skills but also on mindset. “We value employees with technical skills, but even more those with motivation, responsibility, and a strong desire to work. The most important thing is to want to grow and be part of the team,” she explains.

There are also heartwarming moments that remind her why this job matters: “The best feeling is when candidates say: ‘You’re the only company that always pays salaries exactly on the 20th!’ It shows that our reliability and structure are truly appreciated.”

Different Cultures – One Goal

Living and working in Bulgaria, Rasa often notices cultural differences between Lithuanians and Bulgarians, but she sees them as an advantage rather than a challenge. “Bulgarians love planning trips in advance, while Lithuanians tend to be more spontaneous — both attitudes are charming in their own way. The calmness of Bulgarians blends perfectly with Lithuanian energy,” she says.

Working in an international team, these differences become strengths: “Every day in a multicultural team is a new lesson and a new opportunity to move toward a shared goal.”

The Dream – A Fully Independent Office and Continued Growth

Rasa doesn’t hide her ambitions: “My dream is for our Bulgarian office to become a fully independent company one day. I want to see it grow stronger and become an even more important part of Marino Group.”

This vision perfectly reflects her approach — to see beyond today and build the future with purpose and determination.
